Monhegan Island, Maine

September 1 - 5, 2026

$800  3 spots left

This is a 5 day workshop, beginning at 9:00am on the 1st, and ending at noon on the 5th. There is a long tradition of painting on this beautiful little island, and for good reason. A small harbor, a village with classic homes and weathered shacks, a beautiful, hilltop lighthouse, a rocky coastline, and only a handful of autos on the whole island make this perfect for painting. I've taught 8 or so workshops here over the last 15 years. Most of us will stay at the same inn, and you’ll be able to share mealtimes and down time.

We’ll walk to all of our painting sites, carrying our own gear, on dirt roads, which can be uneven and occasionally steep. You should be able to carry your painting gear 1/4 mile. We'll plan on doing 2 paintings per day, with daily demos, and at least 2 slide shows. We have access to an indoor work space in the event of poor weather.

Accommodations, meals and transportation not included. A block of rooms have been reserved at Monhegan House, though you are welcome to stay wherever you like.

Send me an email if you would like to sign up. Once registered, I'll forward a link so you can select and book your accommodations. Limited to 12.
