7 Days and Nights Painting Retreat in Italy's Golfo Paradiso​

Join award-winning artist, Timothy Horn, for a week of painting along the Ligurian Sea. Camogli is truly a paradise for artists with its pastel-colored buildings facing the turquoise sea, the brightly colored fishing boats in the harbor and the charming glimpses of local life: like the laundry hanging out to dry or bins of produce on market day.  Everywhere you turn, there is another wonderful scene inspiring you to paint, sketch or photograph. We will be spending our 7 nights in Camogli at a luxurious 4-star hotel with pool, private beach and beautiful grounds. The bountiful breakfast is served in a room with a wall of windows with panoramic views of town and sea.  

This artist’s retreat, organized by Tim Horn and Anne Dinkelspiel, is designed to give you the freedom to paint as much as you would like, on your own or with others in the group.  Each day there will be a suggested painting location, and Tim is always happy to have you join him wherever he paints.  At least 3 painting demonstrations and 3 feedback sessions will be provided.  We will also have several group painting excursions to nearby sites such as Boccadasse, Bogliasco, Santa Margherita or a wonderful ancient monastery on a cove that is only accessible by boat.  

 

If you would like a break from painting, there is plenty to do: take a swim or hike, go shopping, visit nearby Portofino, people-watch at a cafe or enjoy an aperitivo on the hotel terrace.  We will also provide you with a list of restaurants in town and each night will have a suggested optional no-host dinner for those who would like to eat together.

Itinerary (subject to modification)

• Sunday, May 17             Welcome reception and slide show 

• Monday, May 18            Demonstration and group painting at the harbor, afternoon for painting at the harbor, slide show in late afternoon

• Tuesday, May 19           Ferry ride to San Fruttuoso, day spent painting and swimming, feedback session in the late afternoon

• Wednesday, May 20     Demonstration and group painting in Camogli in the morning, feedback session in the late afternoon

• Thursday, May 21          Train to Boccadassa for painting, free afternoon for more painting or exploring Genoa, feedback session in the late afternoon

• Friday, May 22                Train to Santa Margherita or other town nearby for morning painting, afternoon free to paint or explore Portofino

• Saturday, May 23           Demonstration and group painting in Camogli in the morning, afternoon free for more painting, no-host farewell dinner 

• Sunday, May 24             Departures
